Hi, I'm Jen. And I am a Ween fanatic.
My first encounter with the Ween was in 1993, I was thirteen years old, in my friend Jennifer White's house
watching The Box. Push Th' Little Daisies (at the
time I didn't know it) was playing and she said, "Ooo watch this! It's funny." I asked her what was it. She said, "It's these two
guys ... This song is so weird." Then she proceeded to in her best helium pitched voice sing - "push the little daisies and make them come
up". I didn't get it and quickly dismissed it as nonsense.
The years went on and I didn't give it a second thought. I remember the surfacing of Ween in my mind when they were in the spotlight for their controversial cover art for Chocolate and Cheese. But didn't give it much thought.
It wasn't until 2001 when I was reintroduced with the Ween by my now ex boyfriend. He asked, have you ever heard Ween before. My immediate response was "oh yeah I remember Push Th' Little Daisies - no thanks." Yeah but have you ever heard the Mollusk ... "Not interested" Come on listen, give it a chance. I was hooked ever since. I remember my exact words the next day were, I need more Ween.
From there Chocolate and Cheese was my next venture. Then came White Pepper, God Ween Satan, The Pod, Pure Guava. I was hooked and very year since It has just gotten worse.
In 2006 I decided I MUST see Ween live. Whatever it took, I was going. I propositioned my now ex (same ex who introduced me again to the Brown) to take a trip to Buffalo, NY as a mini vacation. See Ween then drive the several miles to Canada to see Niagara Falls. Before I could even plea my cause he was all - NO! What are you 12!? You want to take a road trip to see a band?! .. "Pleeeeeease. We'd totally have a sitter for Abegail. We would only be gone two and half days" .. No, I'm not going to that shit. You can go if you want. But you're not taking the car .. "Okay fine, I'm going. I'm gonna find a way and I'm gonna go." And I found a way. My mom bought my tickets for my Mother's Day gift, I took my friend Brandon, who drove upon my offer to give him a ticket and pay for gas and I made and sold Boognish patches to help fund our trip. It was a $700 and 800 mile trip. I will NEVER forget it.
July 13, 2006 I saw Ween live for the first time in Buffalo, NY. Not only front row at my first Ween show, before the show I met them.
They came out and played Pork Roll Egg and Cheese. The Town Ballroom was like a sauna. We had been outside downtown in the sun all day. I BARELY lasted the over three hour show up front. Right before they played What Deaner Was Talking About (at the end) I had to go out for air. I honestly thought I was gonna pass out.
A great
front row crotch shot of Gene Ween from 7/13/06 taken by ME. 60+ pictures where taken that night.
The end of August I traveled for the last time that year to see Ween. Randy, Brandon, Cody and I saw Ween at the Great Allentown Fair in Allentown, PA to see Ween, but this time was with The Flaming Lips. Once again, I funded the trip. That was a horrible trip. I rarely discuss it.
Cody that night in my pink hoodie
I saw Ween front row again November 12, 2007 for the third time at the Roseland in Portland, OR. I got a ride with someone I NEVER met before. A friend of a myspace friend. I met up with my buddy Scotty who ever so magnanimously held me a spot right in front of the line. I cut in front of people who had been waiting outside for hours! This had to have been the best show I have seen live to date.
They opened with Exactly Where I'm At. I couldn't have been more pleased. We also got that night - I'm in the Mood To Move, Beacon Light, The Blarney Stone, Dr. Rock, Papa Zit, Object, With My Own Bare Hands, Nan, You Fucked Up, Roses, Pony .. It was a great set list!
I didn't get to meet the Papa's that night but I did meet the rest of the boys (I have some GREAT pictures of that.. but just not on this computer).
I love Ween. Ween is like a vitamin supplement. Vitamin W - a daily supply of all your music needs. Whatever you are looking for, Ween's got it. Who else can write songs like Suckin Blood From the Devil's Dick, Put the Coke on My Dick, She Fucks Me, Let Me Lick Your Pussy but then also sing songs like Stay Forever, It's Gonna Be Alright, Alone, I Don't Want It.
Ween encompasses everything I love about everything. If you looked up awesome in the dictionary and under the picture of me, you would find a picture of Ween.
They are WEEN. They don't give two shits about what anyone thinks. If they wanna do it they are gonna do it and not apologize for it. But it's not to be different, it's not for shock value, it's because that's what they do and they do it well. With a voice like Aaron's and the ability that Micky has to play guitar the way the does, they are not letting any of it go to waste. They utilize it - well.
I love Ween. I scared my body for life because of my retarded love for the Boognish.
I get asked (after what is that tattoo of) - "What if you stop loving Ween?" Stop loving WEEN? Not gonna happen. Why would I stop loving Ween?
They are Ween. And that's why I love them.

bet its confusing for a lot of you realizing theres faithfull fans
out there that you dont know that don't have to post on the ween forum everyday to inform everyone about their ween adventures and bowel movements
