My mom ('cellist) was on tour with a black folk singer who no one's ever heard of - Leon Bibb - when I was young; supporting Bill Cosby. He called our
house and I answered the phone. It was weird.

guy was funny as all hell when he started.
I saw him on his first night on the Carson show and it was one of the funniest routines I've seen on live TV. |

I saw the Cos shortly after 9/11- they actually pushed it back a few weeks from the original date because no one was "ready to laugh" yet- I would
suggest going to see him to anyone who has the chance- and see if you can pick up one of those "Hello Friend" T-shirts!

Do you know where liars go?
Uh-huh! They go down to Hell, and there's fire, and they BURN! And they keep burning down there, forever, just burning, and it's hot and they keep BURNING down there, for eternity! Do you want to burn like that? No, dad, please, we don't wanna be burnin'! Well then, tell the truth! The dude came in here, Dad...!
We've always been close, haven't we? Well, until this all blows over, just stay away from me.

A new rap album will hit the market next month called "A State of Emergency" and entertainer and comedian Bill Cosby is behind it.
The Philadelphia native is tired, like so many others, of the violence that has not only taken lives, but destroyed the lives of those left behind. Ukee Washington sat down with Dr. Cosby to talk about this soon-to-be-released project and he told Ukee first things first. "I'm not rapping," said Cosby. But these young men are! It's the brainchild of Dr. William H. Cosby and friends: friends who came to him and said we want to do "clean lyrics." "I don't like the word clean, what I like is what you're not going to do. You're not going to curse, you're not going to put women down, you're not going to put the glory of the gun somewhere and you're not going to put a whole lot of violence up front like that's the thing that will cleanse you and make you feel better," explained Cosby.
