I don't give a shit about animal rights. One time I ran over a baby deer while I was drunk, chased down its limping body, snapped its neck and grilled it,
no joke - best meat I ever ate.
I'm looking at it from a sports perspective, and it just seems like there's been a cloud over racing this year. It feels as dirty as other sports, like it's lost some sort of purity. Who has the best legal medicine, etc? Fuck that. They're in the process of talking about banning steroids in racing. |

I hear you...but that's mostly due to the animal rights nutjobs forcing their way in to the airwaves and making ridiculous statements that many who
don't follow the sport take as gospel.
Horses have been breaking legs and suffering debilitating injuries for years. I'm all for making the sport safer...synthetic racing surfaces seems to help a great deal...but this nonsense about trying to ban the whip??? Come on....A 1,000 pound animal does not feel the whip when he's running on full adreneline toward the finish line...Not from a 100 lb jockey. Slap your hands together HARD and that's what it feels like. Is this what you want to see done to horse racing? Putting mechanical jockeys on top of these horses???? I don't.
