a lot of good football. timbers have a two week break before the next match. happy to have euro 2008 to keep me occupied.

buffons save was awesome. i'm really impressed with spains passing game. but the dutch look unstoppable.

they announced a couple friendlies against mexican premera sides in the next month or so... monarcas and tigres. hoping for a couple sell outs. with our latino population i'm thinking we can do it.

I was really hoping for the semis to include Holland, Spain and Portugal. It would be a fantastic display of offense. It seems Portugal is blowing their chance (though losing to Germany is nothing to be ashamed of) and it wouldn't surprise me if Holland and Spain did too, given their histories.

great match. hats off to the russians. i was watching the game in a laundromat around the corner from my apartment, and was kind of surprised how interested the old mexican dudes were in the match. they were really into it. i didnt think they would really give a shit about holland or russia. but, they like watching a good game as anybody else.

Both Turkey and Russia have won me over. Turkey devastated Croatia in the final minute, just like, um, the game before. Gotta love the heart and the effort.
Russia vs Sweden showed that it's not just the Netherlands who can play exciting footie. I just sat there and smiled for the entire overtime between Russia and the Netherlands. Russia so deserved to win. Last week i was all for the Netherlands, but not at the start nor at the finish of this excellent game. It might even have been the best match of this awesome tournement so far.

It's interesting. Portugal, Croatia, and the Netherlands won their group stages. All three are gone. All three let their stars take a rest in the 4th game. Odd.

I feel bad for Turkey though, i don't think they have 11 healthy men to field a team against Germany. I so would love to see turkey stun the Germans. In this tournament it actually could happen.

This tourney has reminded me how much I enjoy watching top notch international football.

Turkey, I believe will get a few players back from suspension, but with Tuncay and Nihat out, I don't know if they have enough against Germany. The one thing I do know is that the Turks will not go down easily. Germany 1-0.

Spain-Russia should be a fantastic game. I'd love to see Spain break through, but the way Russia played against the Netherlands, it ain't gonna be easy. Spain 3-2.

Isn't Turan out for Turkey? He's clearly their best player and with the 2nd yellow I thought he will miss the semi's. I know about the clean slate after the quarters but they kept saying he was out.

Fuck Italy.......god when Fabregas' shot went thru I was ecstatic. Never thought I'd root so hard for an Arsenal player but i can't stand the italians.

And what can you say about Arshavin, he is a true joy to watch. Of course there are now rumors that Abramovich has already secured a transfer deal to bring him to Chelsea. File that one under "Inevitable"

How can Turkey and Russia be in the EURO final. Russia is in ASIA and Turkey is in AFRICA. They should just call it the NON-AMERICAN(south or north).
Wait... Are there any middle easterners or Orientals??

I think they're all scared of the hispanics/S. Americans.
