When describing a lady. I've always had trouble with this. Some are obviously hot, but some I've said are hot & someone will say no, she is cute.
Any help?

I've had this discussion before. It came down to this: to be hot, a woman must have curves. You don't need curves to be beautiful or cute, but you
gotta have them to be hot. And of course, curves alone don't make a woman hot. They simply elevate someone who is cute or beautiful into the realm of
hotness.
I think Nicole Kidman is gorgeous, but I would never call her "hot." But I definitely would say Salma Hayak is hot. |

I've made this very distinction before, and I have to go with cute>hot. To me, cuteness is innate, a girl is either born with it or not. Likewise, a
cute girl is cute in any situation; it doesn't require much effort.
Hot, on the other hand, is more manufactured and studied. To be hot, a girl just has to be skinny and maybe blonde. She then just has to load on the makeup, and dress like every other hot girl in the bar. Why this matters: First of all, a cute girl is going to look better in the morning, or when the two of you are just hanging out. Second, cute girls are not as vain about their looks as hot girls are. This is because cute is intrinsic and hot is contrived. Materialism and shallowness tend to follow this path as well. These are just my definitions and opinions, and your mileage may vary. Edit: I agree with the idea that it may boil down to face vs. body. There are a lot of mongrel-faced chicks out there with smoking bodies.
