My girlfriend and I spent new years at the Garden for My Morning Jacket with a few other couples we know. I'd heard a bunch of their tunes over the years
on KEXP. Every song sounds the fucking same, and I was shocked to see so many people enjoying their bland crap. Their singers voice got really annoying and the
poor fucks around me just thought they were the shit - high fiving each other after each crappy ass tune. Southern folks just get behind weak bands like
Widespread and make them way bigger than they merit.

No, but most of it. Weakly programmed beats with someone essentially talking over it is not my cup of tea. And then there's the lyrical content itself....
I was listening to some Last Poets last night, and they pretty much blow any rap out of the fucking water, yet did it 10 years earlier.
