I actually went to the show last night and it was surprisingly great. They were a full band of 7: automator on turntables, drums guitar bass, patton, tajai from hieroglyphics, and that girl butterscotch who did beat boxing with peeping tom. basically it was everything i wanted peeping tom to be but wasn't. they sounded like a bay area version of the roots or something, hard to explain. some great songs, some 'meh' songs (let's go was definitely a 'meh' song). they sounded amazingly tight for a first show and it was probably the best singing i've seen from mike patton in years, and i've seen every band of his plenty of times.


so that's my review, i guess? i was initially a bit 'wtf?' when i heard let's go, but don't judge crudo by that song, they have plenty of better ones. they also played some lovage songs, mojo by peeping tom, and closed their second encore with a cover of life on mars by david bowie.

oh, and they opened with a hip-hop version of runnin' with the devil by van halen. i'm not fucking making that up, it was hilarious.

and she's hotter too.
