Hey guys, A company I ocasionally do seasonal work for just offered me a job working in Ft. Dix, NJ from Sunday July 20 - Friday Jul 25. If I can get into Brooklyn after work for the show(s), is there anyone heading back West that could give me a ride home?
I can chip in on gas money and share awesome stories about that week's cultural resource management excavations at Ft. Dix!

I know I wasn't suppose to laugh out loud and that, but it sure gave me a chuckle.
So yeah, it looks like I'm working in Ft Dix, NJ until either Thursday or Friday...the plan is to find a ride to Brooklyn and then either catch a ride back to Buffalo and then fly to Chicago OR fly right out to Chicago from NYC, which would make the most sense. Are you driving solo? Depending on how much each way is going to cost me, I'm going to have to go with the cheaper, not to mention I'm not too crazy about sitting in a car that long, but hell, I'm very interested. Let me know the details. I'm pricing airfare tonight after work so I should have a better idea of what's up by then.

By my count, 800 miles each direction, 25 mpg (you don't drive a truck, do you?), $4/gallon = $128 each way, plus tolls.

I just got off the phone with my boss and i am DEFINATELY going to be at Ft. Dix, til either Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.
Depending on what time I catch the bus, it should take me two hours to get into Manhattan, another hour for Brooklyn, and then, uh, someone take me home! Piz, if you still are trying to make this happen, I'll (almost) definately come back to Il. with you. Otherwise, GouldenAppel, I can megabus it to Chicago no problem from Tower City. Anything that'll be cheaper than a $120 plane ticket will do. Unless I stumble upon an extra Franklin this week.
